On or about Thursday, December 15th, Northbound Route 1 (Richmond Highway) Lanes will be shifted away from the southbound lanes and into their final proposed alignment on to the newly constructed Route 1 (Richmond Highway) roadway between the intersections of Telegraph Rd on the South and Belvoir Rd on the North. There may be several complete traffic stops during the hours of 9am to 3PM to accommodate construction activities which support the new movement of traffic on the new roadway. Please be advised that there will be three lanes available to traffic on this new portion of the northbound roadway at that time. Only two lanes will be available to traffic in the southbound direction until approximately Monday December 19th. On Monday, December 19th it is anticipated that three lanes of travel will be available to the public in the southbound direction of Route 1 (Richmond Highway) beginning at the intersection of Belvoir Rd and will continue throughout the project limits to Telegraph Road on the South. Three lanes of travel are anticipated to be available to the public between these points during peak traffic hours from those dates mentioned above and moving forward during construction. As a reminder, Pillar Baptist Church, Woodlawn & Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House, and Woodlawn Friends Meeting will be accessed via new Woodlawn Road from the new alignment.
